The New
Powered By Wonderware Program
Now you can buy
your favorite CE based device bundled with
Wonderware Software. Just look for the
Powered By Wonderware Sticker.
Wonderware recently announced the creation of
the new Powered by Wonderware® program which
allows customers to leverage Wonderware InTouch
Compact Edition Software on their favorite CE
hardware platform. The ‘Powered by
Wonderware®’ program introduces a new path to
market for InTouch Compact Edition. Working with
hardware vendors, Wonderware has certified
certain manufacturer’s hardware offerings as
"Powered by Wonderware" devices. Vendor hardware
will have a unique part number (and be
identified with a Powered by Wonderware sticker)
which will deliver to the customer a product
with the InTouch Compact Edition 10.1 runtime
installed (but not licensed).
The customer will then purchase an InTouch
Compact Edition license from Wonderware North in the same manner as a full InTouch
license is purchased today. The customer will
receive a paper license key, and will activate
the InTouch Compact Edition 10.1 image using an
automated web site.
To date, several leading manufacturers have
already signed up and been certified. To
learn about your favorite vendor, contact
Wonderware North and we can guide you in the
process of ordering your Powered By Wonderware
system. Note that Wonderware also carries
a line of CE enabled products that are fully
supported (both hardware and software) by
Wonderware. Either way, you can now
leverage InTouch for Compact Edition on
certified and tested hardware platforms.
Vendors that
have already signed up:
- Advantech Corporation
- Arista Corporation
-
Axiomtek
- B&R Industrial Automation
-
Beckhoff Automation
- Beijer Electronics
-
Kontron
- Pro-face America

wide range of applications, networks and I/O
data sources. Application
functionality includes recording consumption and
demand at main and sub meters for a wide range
of energy types, including power, water, chill,
gas, air and steam. The application also
associates production output to energy usage,
providing the key performance indicators used in
many sustainability programs. It can be
quickly installed in a matter of days, and
pre-built reports give managers, supervisors and
workers new visibility and information on how
energy is used within the operation.
With this Wonderware application, companies are
able to create a variety of energy consumption
web reports based on time period, department,
cost center and operational events.
Real-time views of energy consumption are
provided by Wonderware InTouch HMI, offering an
overview of the real-time state of energy usage.

New
Wonderware Intelligence (EMI) Software
Enterprise
Analytics and KPIs are delivered in this
significant new, easy to use offering from
Wonderware.
Invensys Operations Management unveiled the new
Wonderware® Intelligence Software last week at
OpsManage in Anaheim, California. This
new, easy-to-use enterprise manufacturing
intelligence (EMI) solution enables customers to
contextualize, aggregate and report both
historian and operational data using role-based
dashboards, presenting key performance
indicators (KPIs) and real-time operational
business metrics that are used to monitor, tune
and optimize operations and supply chains.
Wonderware Intelligence software transforms data
and information from multiple sources into
business intelligence by aggregating process and
production data in real time and adding
contextual elements, such as equipment, product,
work orders, material and personnel. This
information context enables end users to gain
insights into the root causes of problems and
understand how production events are related —
another unique benefit.
The formatted information is saved and optimized
for fast reporting and analysis, allowing end
users to create and publish dashboards using the
Wonderware Intelligence Analytics Client into a
wide variety of web portals. Users can also
configure customized metrics without
programming. Additionally, the solution:
Key Features and Capabilities:
- Acquires data not only from the Wonderware
family of products, including MES, InBatch™ and
Historian, but also from external systems such
as ERP, LIMS, PDM or even other execution
systems and historians, to provide plant,
multi-plant and corporate-wide views of
operations and performance
- Utilizes
best-in-class tools for rapidly creating and
publishing dashboards that can be rendered in
commonly used web platforms such as Microsoft
SharePoint®, mySAP Enterprise Portal and
Wonderware Information Server
- Furthers
investments in the core Wonderware products,
leveraging System Platform’s Integrated
Development Environment and services for
configuration and deployment of the data model
and allowing customers to incrementally add MES
and EMI features and functionality easily and
non-invasively
- Is a cross-functional product,
applicable to any industry or market segment

Stratus
Enabling Fault
Tolerance/Redundancy for your mission critical
software and database applications has never
been easier.
Today's plant systems are often mission
critical applications that drive our
manufacturing operations. As such, it is
vital that the hardware platforms that are
running those applications and databases not
fail. Often, however, employing redundancy
can involve expensive and complicated server
clusters, duplication of software licenses or
complicated software applications to manage
redundant applications. Those days are now
a thing of the past with Stratus Fault Tolerant
Servers.
Stratus Technologies has been in business
providing the highest levels of application
availability in the industry for the past 30
years. Stratus ftServers run standing
Windows operating systems, RedHat Linux and
VMware vSphere operating systems and provide
instant failover protection through a hardware
platform that looks and feels just like a
standard Dell Server. With over
11,500 servers throughout the world, protecting
some of the most mission critical applications,
Stratus Servers are a proven technology platform
that can be leveraged to provide complete
application redundancy.
If you can turn on a PC, and load a software
application, you can create a Status-based
fault-tolerant hardware platform to enable
redundancy for your mission critical
applications. It is really that easy and
because Stratus Servers don't need any special
software to work, setting up a Stratus Server is
as easy as setting up a Dell Server. Load
your operating system (if it is not already
loaded), load your application and run. Leverage
Stratus Servers for a plant historian, an MES
Server, redundant windows terminal servers,
redundant HMI applications, etc. and instantly
provide a redundant hardware platform to host
your critical software applications.
Key Features and Capabilities:
- Set up is as easy as setting up a standard
Dell Server.
- Servers are open systems running
standard Windows, Linux and VMware. Any
application which runs on any of these operating
environments will run without change on Stratus
and become instantly continuously available.
-
There is no specialized training to set up a
system. A Stratus ftServer appears to the
operating system to be just another stand alone
server. Load your software and go.
- Achieve
99.999% application availability. Engineered to
prevent failure, Stratus systems are installed
in hundreds of manufacturing facilities across
the globe, virtually eliminating software
downtime.
- No complex setup or failover
testing, no provisioning hardware, or mirroring
disk drives. No engineering effort, no systems
integration.
To learn more about Stratus, contact Wonderware North at 215-675-5800 or e-mail us at
sales@wonderwarenorth.com.
